LONELY CUB AT THE TOP OF BOTLEY HILL
Chelsham's Leyland Cub C34 BXD659 seen here in the usual wintry conditions high up on the North Downs at Botley Hill. C34 was being taken out and about checking the condition of the local roads, note the two Bus and Coach request stops at either side of the road, also the AA box at the top of Titsey Hill can just be seen behind the Bus and Coach request stop on the left, which also still has the wartime stipes at the base of the pole. The road to Woldingham via The Ridge is on the right and the cottages are still there today. |

THE G.P.O. TELEPHONE WIRES ARE DOWN TO TATSFIELD
While out and about from Chelsham Garage in C34 checking the state of the bus route roads, the Approach Road leading into Tatsfield from Clarkes Lane shows the G.P.O. telephone wires are down, this telegraph pole is taking the strain from the weight of the snow clinging to the wires. April 1950 |
