Caterham, Warlingham and Tatsfield to Westerham, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells by Bus : 1994 - 1999

The first direct bus route from Caterham to Sevenoaks began running on the 30th March 1994 when East Surrey Buses ran the Route 553 on Wednesdays only, the route was altered to run on Mondays to Fridays on 3rd September 1994 and was renumbered 253, this service ceased to operate on 30th August 1996. A new service commenced on 2nd September 1996 numbered 411 and ran on Wednesdays only between Caterham Station and Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, this service was abandoned after running for the last time on 1st September 1999. It is now no longer possible to travel between Warlingham and Caterham in Surrey to Kent without a lengthy detour and change of buses at Caterham, Godstone, Oxted and again at Westerham involving a total of 4 different buses and 3 different operators.
